Most of our work is families moving across town, and crews run from two to 10 people depending on the job — a two-person crew for an apartment, bigger teams for a full house. The reason people keep our number is that the awkward jobs are handled by the same crews.

Movers do not compete on the hourly rate you are quoted. They compete on what gets added to it afterwards. We do not publish a rate here — you will get yours from Lyn, for your actual job — but here is the whole list of what does and does not get added to it, side by side.
One hourly rate, and the truck is in it
Local moves are hourly. One rate covers the crew and the truck, and you agree it with Lyn before you book. Crew size is the one thing that moves it: a bigger crew costs more per hour and usually less in total, because the clock stops sooner.

Moving your mom or dad into assisted living
More of our moves are senior moves than anything else, and they are almost always arranged by the adult child. The facility sets the move-in window, the new apartment is a fraction of the size of the house, and someone has to decide what happens to forty years of furniture. We have done enough of them to be useful about it.

Let me start by saying we moved from a multilevel home (six set of stairs) to a seven bedroom with two stories and an attic.
